The story about the cat who adopted Cleveland Amory.Amory would like us to believe he is a true curmudgeon; however,Polar Bear thinks differently.
This is the third book in the Polar Bear cat series. This is a true book. Cleveland Amory is in the hospital after-a heart attack and a friend brings his beloved cat Polar Bear to visit him and Drops off the cat. Another friend is supposed to pick up the cat and runs into an emergency. So they can not come and pick up Polar Bear, who is solid white including his tail. Cleveland tells Polar Bear to stay under the covers when a nurse comes in. AS luck would have it a nurse comes in and Polar Bear sticks out his tail and runs screaming, "A snake, A snake!". Why she thought a white cat tail was a snake is beyond me. So Cleveland stops her and tells her it is a cat which she is OK with even though no animals are allowed. Through the night several other nurses come in and see Polar Bear and are Ok with a cat being there. Besides who will you get to come and get a cat in the middle of the night? This is a fun, interesting book.
