Despite our being in the age of electronic this and that, a good resume is still indispensable, especially in this tough job market. You may change formats as you send your resume electronically or attach it to an e-mail (rather than sending it by snail mail), but the drill is still the same. This book helped me calm my panic over cranking out yet another resume to custom fit yet another legal position I was applying for, and the results were acceptable. Being from a top tier school and on law review and having a good GPA still matter; just as the resume and cover letter still matter. But, to a certain extent, all those factors get you in the door, which is the thing that matters the most. So, think of this book as one tool in your job hunting arsenal.
