What a great beginning to a new series! If you like Robyn Carr, Debbie Macomber, or Susan Mallery, you will LOVE Sheila Roberts.

For my introduction to Sheila Roberts, this was a fantastic read! Set in a small town in Washington state, Samantha and her two sisters and mother are experiencing some personal and work tragedies. Their mother has just buried her second husband and they are all hoping to resurrect their chocolate company that hasn't been doing well for awhile. These ladies must work hard to come up with some money to pay off a bank loan that is being called in on a short notice.

I thought the book was a little bit drawn out and too predictable. I would have liked a more in-depth ending to know what became of the other sisters but I guess that is for another book. All the characters were very likeable.

I think my problem was I expected a romance and this is in the "novel" category from Harlequin MIRA. If you're looking for a book about sisters and their mother overcoming adversity this is the book for you! If you're looking for a love story, take a pass. I want my pleasure reading to be an escape from the real world, not a reflection of it. This has death, economic hardship, job loss, and loneliness. Even the sweet small town setting had realistic petty politics. I like the imaginary town where everyone cooperates to help the heroine, not this one where a high school acquaintance is still giving her grief.
What a delightful book by one of my favorite authors. Charming story of a small hometown who over come all their problems when they come together to help Samantha and the Sterling family save their chocolate factory. Love and romance plus chocolate recipes. Great read.
Good Story
