I can't believe I wasted 2 days reading this until the end. I tried to stick with it waiting for it to get better, but it didn't. The story had potential, but I ended up feeling so unattached and unsympathetic for the heroine, and disliking her husband, that I couldn't get into the story.

This book was a fast read. I kept turning the pages to find out what happened. The only thing I couldn't understand was why the main character would stay with her husband for such a long time. He was such a waste. I just kept waiting for her to get a clue. I did like the ending, but I think the Mercy Thompson series is better.

TSTL heroine Abra Barrow is in a relationship with a cheating werewolf who can't keep it in his pants. She stays with him and even moves away from her career to keep him. It isn't until 3/4 of the book is complete before she gets balls and goes off with another man. Then the werewolf and his alpha bitch start trouble. It finally gets exciting at this point and is worth reading but a tad boring and annoying until then.

TSTL = too stupid to live

I really liked this book. I read it quickly, b/c it was one of those you can't seem to stop reading. I dont want to give spoilers, but I was so happy that Abra found true love in the end, b/c her husband was such a jerk. The last few chapters were very exciting & I liked that there was a conclusion at the end, and it wasnt left wide open like so many books where you have to get the sequel to find out what happens. I hope this turns out to be a series of books b/c I would love to read about Abra & Red's new lives. Really good Werewolf/Shapeshifter romance. Some explicit sex but it was part of the story & not just added in like an afterthought.

The blurb on the back of the book grabbed my attention right away. Unfortunately, the book did not provide the story I expected. I took an instant dislike to the main character who needed to grow a backbone and her husband was even worse. The story just never grabbed my attention and I felt I had to work too hard to enjoy it. You shouldn't have to work to like a book, it should just happen. There was not an easy flow to the story. Very disappointed in it.
