I was shocked and amazed that any book was able to enchant me the way Between Sisters did from the first moment I opened the book.

While I don't have a sister with which to compare this story to, I had lived through a similar experience with my oldest brother. It pains me that we can't get over our past, but my present and future are much brighter without his shadow to overcast upon it.

Even though the book was somewhat predictable, the way it was told made it even more poignant. Not every piece of the puzzle was formed until the end, and I loved how Hannah wove it together. This was my first read by this author, and it won't be my last.

Very moving. I have to admit, there was a lump in my throat. And that does not happen very often.

An easy summer read. But with enough story-line and engaging characters to keep the pages turning....it's easy to understand the relationship between the sisters--even though they are so different. I have a sister, and it's not often that an author gets the nuances so right in the way two people relate to one another....Hannah does here. These two women are struggling as adults to find the innocence in their relationship that they once had--before it's too late. It made me want to call my sis' right up...

A beautifully written tale about two sisters and their shared family dysfunction. This inspiring story gives hope that it is never too late to restore relationship and start a new history together.

I thought it was a good book with a well written story line. Having 5 sisters I could relate to the feelings and frustrations of that relationship and by the time the book was done, I felt compelled to want to call and tell them how much I loved them. This is my first Kristin Hannah book and I would be willing to read more by this author.

Have tissues ready. Had me laughing and crying a couple of times. I enjoy Kristien Hannah because she weaves a very human story and being human, I can relate.

This was the first Kristin Hannah book I have read. I wasn't sure I would like it that much but as soon as I started to read it, it became one of my favorite books. It was a little predictable until the twist in the middle of the story. There aren't many authors that can completely take my emotions for a spin. Can't wait to read more of her books!

A good summer read, verging on chick lit category. The characters are fairly well developed but a little one sided but... if you belong to or know anyone from a dysfunctional family , you are sure to relate (.This is the first book I have read from this author and am now reading Firefly Lane..similar conflicts and a quick read, just friends as characters not sisters....)

If there is one thing author Kristin Hannah likes, it is stories about sisters. So, not unlike True Colors, we have another book about sisters. This time it is two sisters (Meghann & Claire). Older sister, Meghann, is a successful divorce lawyer but unlucky in love. Claire is a single mother and caretaker of a popular lodge. Meghann and Claire are not as close as they used to be, but things may change now that Claire is getting married.

This is a good story. Again Hannah does a good job with character development and emotions. I think there was more romance in True Colors, which I liked more. This one is just about relationships between sisters.

One of the best reads of all times. This is a story about 2 sisters who lose each other and find their way back to being family. A very touching story about these sisters and others that surround them.

Great book! Meghann became a mother to her little sister Clair when their single mother went off to star in a space series. When Meghann was at her wits end as to what to do, she contacted Clair's father (who didn't even know he had a daughter) and left Clair with him to go off on her own at 16. Meghann eventually becomes a successful divorce lawyer and Clair helps her father run a river resort camp. Neither is close until tragidy comes into their lives. I have read a lot of tear jerkers but this book brought on a flood of tears.

"Between Sisters" by Kristin Hannah was another enjoyable experience in the lives and relationships of two very special women. Like all Kristin Hannah books, this one too focuses on the normal conflict and chaos that occurs in close female relationships. Having a sister of my own, I completely relate to Meghann and Claire. Hannah always delves deeply into the heart of relationships and what makes them work. I was taken down an emotional road that had moments of joy, sadness, anger, and laughter. I truly delighted in this story in the same way I have for every other Hannah novel that I have read.

Meghann Dontess is haunted by heartbreak. Twenty-seven years ago she was forced to make a terrible choice, one that cost her everything, including the love of her sister, Claire. Now, Meghann is a hotshot divorce attorney who doesn't believe in intimacy - until she meets the one man who can change her mind.

Claire Cavenaugh has fallen in love for the first time in her life. As her wedding day approaches, she prepared to face her harsh, judgemental older sister. It is the first time they have been together in more than two decades. Over the course of a hot Pacific Northwest summer, these two women who believe they have nothing in common will try to become what they never were: a family.

Years ago, Meghann Dontess made a terrible choice that cost her everything, including the love of her sister, Claire. Now, Meghann is a highly successful attorney who doesn't believe in intimacyâuntil she meets the one man who can change her mind. Claire Cavenaugh has fallen in love for the first time in her life. As her wedding day approaches, she prepares to face her strong-willed older sister. Reunited after more than two decades apart, these two women who believe they have nothing in common will try to become what they never were: a family. Tender, funny, bittersweet, and moving, Between Sisters skillfully explores the profound joys and sorrows shared by sisters, the mistakes made in the name of love, and the promise of redemption.
This book is a 2003 rendition of a Kristin Hannah book. It's one that has more romance than the newer Kristin Hannah books such as The Great Alone or The Nightingale. It has a plot that kept me reading until the very end. The ending was very good and made the book worth reading. If you enjoy romance with your fiction then you will enjoy this book.

No one knows you like your sister. She can make you laugh or break your heart with a single word. And no one writes novels like Kristin Hannah, an author who vividly explores the intricate bonds of family and, as Tami Hoag said touches the deepest, most tender corners of our heart. Now, in her rich, captivating new book, she creates an indelible portrait of two women, once lost to each other, about to come together in a time of exquisite joy and almost unbearable sadness. Sisters by blood, strangers by choice, each stands at a crossroads, ready to confront the betrayals of the past. . . .

Your sister is always your sister. Some of them stay close, others drift apart. But when push comes to shove as they say, it's your sister who is there for you. This is very apparent in this book. Good story, I did find the ending just a little too Hallmarky, but otherwise a good book.

The book started out slow and it took quite a few pages to completely describe each character and their part in the story. Once all that was done, it really held my attention and it was hard to put it down. Pretty well written, although I think the "lead up" to the actual story was a bit long.

I love Kristin Hannah books! They are always good emotional and realistic reads. BETWEEN SISTERS was not my favorite of her books, but it was good and kept me reading. What else can you hope for?

This one really did explain the unbreakable bond between sisters, no matter how broken that bond may seem. The tenaciousness of Meg's determination to reconnect and ultimately save Claire's life was wonderful.

If you like Hannah's books too and have missed this one, pick it up. I suspect you won't put it down until you've read the last page!

Another good book by Kristen Hannah. I was curious to read this, as I can relate to sister and mother issues... that part was a good learning lesson (Free therapy!) for me.
but I could do without the vivid sexual descriptions and the definitions of "true love" that I do not agree with.
Story line was not too predictable, and character development was great.
