I struggled to get through this book. I don't know if it's because it is about the sixth book in this series I've read and they're all starting to sound alike or if it wasn't that good. I've liked the other books I've read, but in this one Magdalena was really getting on my nerves. I had to make myself pick the book up and read it, that to me is not a good sign. I'm not completely done reading the series, but I think I may be getting close. Too many other really good ones out there to put up with not so good ones.

My favorite Magdalena Yoder story yet. A delicious treat that kept me laughing and guessing as to the murderer all the way through.Add a possible alien in a pond, Magdalena as deputy, a stolen plate of fried chicken, marital problems, a new cast of 'assorted nuts' staying at the Penn Dutch Inn. This is the best book yet.

I've liked the previous books in this series, but this one was slow for me. It was still funny and enjoyable, however. Mags and Susannah will make you laugh, and so will Freni.
