Wow, I'm VERY surprised no one has reviewed this yet. This series is one of the most original fantasy series I've ever read, with many interesting, and likable - but humanly flawed - characters. Anthony has a real knack for creating characters who come to life on the page; who are imperfect heroes, yet completely endearing. Furthermore, over the course of the series, he masterfully combines myth and folklore from regions all over the world into a single, cohesive unit, leaving the reader breathless at the end of every page in expectation for what he's going to tell you next. There are very few fantasy series that I've read with TRUE re-readability, even for those of us, like myself, who have a difficult time re-reading something when I "already know what's going to happen". This is as series that will surprise you all over again each time you read it. You will love re-visiting the characters, and each time you read them again it feels like hanging out with old friends. The plot is captivating, intriguing, and fresh with each reading. I just cannot heap enough praise on this author. Fabulous series.
