I just could not get into this book. All the foreshadowing in it pretty much tells you what will happen so that you're left with wondering "why bother?" to finish the story. Also, it was just very slow-paced and felt like the author was just writing to get something published by a deadline.

All of her books are great. This is a book of time travel. She traveled back into the past to find her true love. Those who read this book need to also read Here and Then.

Part of a two book set. This was an enjoyable, quick read. I would suggest reading them in order so you know who the characters are. 1-There and Now 2-Here and Then.

I read this book in one day. I could not put it done. If you like time travel and Linda Lael Miller you will love this book.

Book one - travel back in time 100 years. The language is a little stilted, but the books were written in the 90's. Typical Linda Lael Miller though, witty, strong woman who falls in love with a man and his young daugher in the old west. Stay or go? And will the portal between the times even let her choose. Quick, good read.

There was no turning back.
TWO SEPARATE WORLDS, DENIED BY DESTINY
Elisabeth McCartney returns to her centuries-old family home in search of refuge - never dreaming escape would lie over a threshold. She is taken back one hundred years into the past and into the bedroom of the very handsome Dr. Jonathan Fortner, who demands an explanation from his T-shirt-clad "guest."
But Elisabeth has no REASONABLE explanation to offer.

I really enjoyed this book, but I enjoy all of Linda Lael Miller books, especially her vampire novels
