Hercule Poirot is the star of this story. Hastings has just arrived from South America and finds his friend on his way out of town. However, events thwart that, and Hercule Poirot is chasing the Big Four. This underground group wants world domination.

This is quite an adventure because Hercule leaves his domicile to chase bad folks with Hastings. There are lots of intermediary adventures, culminating in the destruction of the Big Four. Agatha Christie pulls out all of the stops, including Hercule's twin, Achille Poirot.

Unfortunately, Ms. Christie's stories do not age well. The characters are cardboard; they just move the plot along.
