This is a great relationship story about a group of high school friends and the way a tragedy affected their adult lives. I loved how the author created such complex characters in her story.

This is one ruff book! The subject matter almost turned me off from reading for good. The author is however not a bad writer. But if you have difficulties with illegal activities performed by teenage girls then this is not the book for you. I hated it!

While this book is definitely a page turner (I could NOT put it down!), I found it very disturbing and I cringe at the thought of a teen or anyone struggling with self-worth issues or depression reading this book. The book seems to encourage many self damaging actions. The characters find relief in drinking, drugs, loveless sex and cutting. I want it out of my house before my 16 year old daughter's attention is grabbed by the title.

The story of 3 best friends and their self-destructive behavior. They're promiscuous, they smoke, drink, lie, shoplift, take drugs,and cut themselves - all on a regular basis. This behavior goes beyond the teenage years into adulthood. A terrible secret is hinted at throughout the book and is not exposed until the very end. I found the story a bit depressing, but I did finish to find out what the secret was. Not really my cup of tea.

Bitch Posse is an okay book. Its not as deep and wonderful as the author seems to think it is. It picked up a lot towards the end when the pieces were coming together though.

I loved this book, raw and powerful, draws you in from page one. Told in a series of flashbacks and intertwining three different narratives about three high school teens' behavior and destructive actions ultimately affects their adult lives 15 years later. Hard to believe this is by a first time novelist. Hope to read many more books by Ms. O'Connor - she's quite a talent.

This book it dark and twisty... which I found fantastic! The chapters do flip between the characters and the decades. This may annoy some people.
This book was recommended via the system, and reviews indicated an interesting book, but I found this book pretty distasteful, which is not a word I often use! I did not find the redeeming qualities beneath the story line, which is not something I recommend.
Ok, this is a GREAT book. It's about 3 girls who are friends that drift apart. It tells the story in all 3 points of views from the past and present. It has a lot of sex and and a good amount of cussing in it. But it's a very moving story. I couldn't put it down until I finished it.
It took a few chapters for me to get "into" it, but then I didn't want to put it down! Since the author juggled each of the 3 subjects, along with past and present, I couldn't wait to see what the next chapter held. It reminded me of the movie "Wild Things" in a way. Definitely NOT in the "chick novel" genre... but intriguing.
True, this book is dark and twisty and the hard core chick-lit reader would be turned off with this direct look into the world of hidden taboo's. However, if you are interested in a good book that will open your eyes to societies little secrets this is a good read. It was a nice change from the standard woman's fiction of : "girl meets boy, boy causes snafu, girl realizes mistake and yay... happily ever after"

This book was definitely a page turner. Do not let the cover fool you - this is no fluffy Bridget Jones. It is slightly dark and twisted novel of 3 friends. The intricate story the author weaves makes you able to relate to the complex characters to the core.

This really seemed like the sort of book I could go for. Bad ass high school chicks in the '80s? Um, hells yeah! Unfortunately it felt flat and the characters were just caricatures. I had little sympathy for anyone. Was barely interested in their sad-ass lives and had already figured out the Big Reveal a third of the way in. Which, by the way, was beyond shitty. Not shitty writing. But shitty story telling. They weren't Bitches. Just basic losers.
