Another awesome read with witches, dragons, magic, romance, sex...this time the focus is on Saba Watanabe (a witch from the first book) and Malcolm (the black dragon. There's so many more wonderful characters, but no hint as to another book to follow...or is there a slight hint at the Chinese New Year Parade?????

I liked the first book in this series, Dragon Heat just enough to give James' second book a chance. There were many things I liked about it. I like the romance and tension between Saba and Malcom (the black dragon) better then the characters in the first book. There was more tension and more conflict to their relationship. However this book seriously bogged down in the middle with the endless fight scenes between the black and white dragon. I wish the author would spend more time on the relationship between the characters and less on the fight scenes which do not end up being that interesting. I doubt I will read any more in this series.

I love the setting of this series - San Francisco's Chinatown, it's people and their beliefs or lack thereof, is a very integral part of the story line. This another series where order is very important...
In Dragon Heat, the heroine finds the guest room in the apartment she inherited from her grandmother contains a 'door' to the world of dragons. Not to mention the TV-watching golden dragon...
The Black Dragon brings back Malcolm and Saba, both introduced in the first book. Who knew dragons would need a good programmer?
Dragon series:
#1 Dragon Heat
#2 Black Dragon
#3 The Dragon Master
