Excellent read, hard to put down. All of Hunter's books have a tie to each other, even though each is a stand alone story. It is worth the effort to read in sequence.
Helpful Score: 2
Filled with detail, clever plotting, suspense and a hunt to the death that leaves the reader dry-mouth with tension!
Awesome book! Almost impossible to put down! It gives a lot of Bob Lee's background.

Another great action thriller from Stephen Hunter. This is a must read for Bob Lee and Earl Swagger fans. Hunter nicely ties "Point of Impact" and "Dirty White Boys" together and it's a great lead-in to the Earl Swagger novels. It's been a while since I read a Hunter novel and I have to say that I shouldn't have waited so long. I've recently been reading the Reacher series by Lee Child which I love, but Hunter's Swagger novels are just as good or may even be better! Highly recommend the Swagger series (both Earl and Bob Lee) and "Black Light" is one of the best!

I have read several of Stephen Hunter's novels; this one I liked best of all. I think it falls third in the series not that it maters which you read first. The ending was a little disappointing but reasonable.
If you're a fan of Bob Swagger "Marine Sniper", then you will like this book. It is about Bob Swagger's dad, Earl Swagger. Great book....
The world's best sniper, Bob The Nailer" Swagger is back with a vengence.
Weaving together characters from his national bestsellers, "Point of Impact" and dirty White Boys", Mr. Hunter's gripping thriller builds to an exhilarating climax -- an explosion of gunfire that blasts open the secrets of two generations. A great story
Clever in this author's weaving together characters from him previous national bestsellers "Point Of Interest" & "Dirty White Boys". A thriller.
Amazing how Hunter transcends decades with his character development, until he has to let go of a key protagonist.
Here comes Earl Swagger!! I love the Hunter/Earl Swagger books!!!!!
Another Bob Lee Swagger thriller. He wants to find out who killed his state trooper father four years ago. The killing has only just begun. This book is one of the best!
If you like Stephen Hunter, you'll like this as it ties together several other books from different series.
Mystery inside a mystery, surrounded by a conspiracy.

GREAT read with a lot of back detail mystery and intrigue. Terrific book for either man or woman to read. Keeps you involved and teetering on the edge of your seat.
Good Read
In this genre, one of the best I've read.
In this novel, our favorite sniper, Bob Lee Swagger, goes back in time to try to solve the murder of his father, an Arkansas State Trooper. Blue Eye was a small, average, southern American town in the very beginnings of the battle between the whites and blacks in 1955. On a hot morning in July, Trooper Earl Swaggers life becomes increasingly complicated when he becomes involved in solving the brutal rape and murder of a young black girl while trying to help newly-released small-time criminal Jimmy Pye get his life back on track. What ensues that fateful day not only changes the lives of those in 1955, but also today, as Bob Lee uncovers a hornets nest of cover-ups, lies, and conspiracy. But with Bob Lees life now full of love with his wife and a son, hes not going down without a fight!
This book offers several surprises and twists that are sometimes hard to follow, but stick with it and take notes if you need to, because its worth it in the end! Bob Lee doesnt disappoint and his skills havent diminished since becoming a husband and father. Love this man! Hes not afraid to do whats right and let the chips fall where they may. Its refreshing to see justice in todays world of bleeding heart liberals.
