This is the most exciting book I have read in years and years. The first one in the series was good but this one was really fun and exciting. I can't wait to see how the third one goes. If you like to see nasty people get their comeupance read this book. Southern women cat fights are the best!!!

Good book. I was a little disappointed that Stella and Logan weren't in this one as much as the first because I became so fond of them. However, the point of view in the 1st book was Stella's and this one was of Roz's so it only made sense that way. Roz is one brave lady; there is no way in the world I would stay in a house that is haunted by a lunatic ghost. The mystery of the ghost's identity is pretty much solved so it will be interesting to see how much the ghost story is incorporated in book 3, which I assume will be from the point of view of Hayley (most likely finally realizing she is in love with Harper).

I have to admit that I generally classify Norah Roberts books as "junk food" reading for myself, but they never fail to satisfy in that regard. This is just one carbon copy book from the many, many she's written that fits neatly into an interesting story about women and romance, with some supernatural elements thrown in to complete the classic Norah Roberts formula. I did enjoy this one-it hit the spot for me when I needed a light read. Also, be sure to check out Blue Dahlia and Red Lily, the other two in the series. Enjoy :) This is a great beach/lake/airplane/travel read-engaging and sweet, with nice, take-your-breath-away romantic moments.

Typical Nora Roberts; no surprises, but an enjoyable read. I thought the ghost was a nice twist.

Rosalind Harper has hired genealogist Mitchell Carnegie to help discover the identity of the Harper Bride, a ghost that haunts Harper House. Mitch talks to Roz's relatives and searches old books and diaries, looking for the identity of the ghost known as Amelia. Who was she and why does she haunt this house? Roz and Mitch grow closer as they work together to discover Amelia's past. This does not make the ghost happy at all. Her rage threatens Roz and the people she loves.

This is the second book in the In the Garden Trilogy. I liked both Roz and Mitch, but their romance was kind of boring. I couldn't feel any chemistry between them. I was looking forward to the ghost story in this book, but the pace was slow. I guess it is hard dragging it out over three books. The most interesting part of the story for me was Roz's ex-husband returning to Memphis and making her life miserable. Roz knows he is behind most of her troubles; but doesn't have any evidence to take to the police. I thought these portions of the story were the highlights of the book. My rating: 3.5 Stars.

Black Rose is the second book in Ms. Roberts' In the Garden Trilogy. While Stella and Logan still feature in this book, as do Hayley and Harper, this book is focused on Roz.

Roz is the mistress of Harper House. She is also one who seems to have the ghostly attention of Amelia, which as we'll learn in this book isn't without reason.

Roz recently came out of a bad relationship, and really isn't looking for anything with anyone... until Dr. Mitchell Carnegie comes along. They start out as just friends, but when that sizzle starts, neither of them can resist it.

But with Amelia in the background, and Roz's past to contend with, will Roz and Mitch find their happy ending?

Black Rose is my second favorite book of the trilogy. My favorite is the final book, Red Lily, but this one is a very close second. Roz is a very strong character, and even though she's in her late forties, she's still totally young at heart.

It's interesting to read a story whose main character is much older than I am. But it didn't turn me away from it, or make the story any less. If anything it made it more.

If you enjoy Ms. Roberts, this is definitely a book and series you won't want to miss!

I truly enjoyed this series from Nora Roberts. It mixes the present with the past, and eventually everything makes sense. Black Rose is about Roselyn, the owner of a gardens store, who is the only daughter to inherit her families old house/mansion. She eventually finds love, despite having a nasty divorce.
