The third and hopefully not the last in the Merci Rayborn series. Parker once again spins a tangled web that is less about mystery and more about the characters affected by it. I hope we haven't seen the last of Detective Rayborn, but if this was it, it was a satisfying ending.

Liked this book, however, there are several places of just repeat and repeat and that can be skipped it doesn't add anything as it is just repeat, then there are places where the female cop has 'time' with her son and if Parker was trying to make it 'cute' he didn't, I found it to be irritating and add nothing to the storyline and that part can be skipped, but overall it is a good book.

The beautiful young woman is dead, her husband, a young cop, is shot in the head but is still alive. It looks like an attempted murder/suicide. Is it?

Detective Merci Rayborn investigates a shooting. Was it a attempted double homicide or an attempted murder suicide,....or possibly a set up to look like a murder suicide? This novel is a complex drama of murder and redemption. "Fast-paced and engrossing!"
