If you read the first volume of Blame!, this second volume is more of the same. The same intense dark and mechanical world, the same soulless characters, the same excess violence. Manga-ka Tsutomu Nihei tells this bleak story with few words, relying instead on panel after panel of action and struggle. Protagonist Killy has not gotten much further success in his quest to find Net Terminal Genes, but this time around he's picked up a travelling partner, a cyborg scientist named Cibo. He's also increased his contact and understanding of The Authority, the synthetic overlords of this goth-noir mech world.
