I like the O'Loughlin series and suggest you start with Book 1 in order to keep the facts in order of his life. The stories are well written and keeps you interested all the way to the end. Might be a couple of places it gets a little bogged down with too much description but doesn't last long and moves along quickly.

The characters and the plot line held up really well. The 3d book I've read by the author and each has been rewarding.
