The author's dislike for the American health care system, gun ownership, and other issues comes through in the writing, but it was easy to filter it out.

Good read! Is the shooter the bad guy or the good guy? Is the gum shoe the good guy or the bad guy? Why would anyone want the reporter dead? A very involved look at the underworld of sniper, cops, good guys and bad guys. A chase from London to New York to Seattle. And what do The Disciples of Love have to do with the dead reporter, a secretary of state and an east European embassy senior aid?
A pretty good assassin novel where someone seems to have set up the assassin. Several twists to keep the reader on their toes. There is one part of the ending that leaves you hanging, so I didn't care for that, but overall, a good book.
Different to the Inspector Rebus series, but a very good read. Action takes place in UK from London to Scotland and in different parts of the USA.
Rate as 10. My husband read it too.

I was uncomfortable realizing I was supposed to root for the protagonist throughout the book being a hit man.
