Although this book is advertised an Eve Duncan book this book is mainly about Jane her foster daughter. The book starts off with a bang but then among the history of a 2000 year old death it loses somthing along the way. A crazed killer is killing all women who resemble this 2000 year old dead woman and Jane happens to look like her. At one point I thought it would have some sort of big explosive climax but kind of left the reader hanging. Yes, the bad guy bit it, yes the good guys won but there was almost no point in Eve's part of the book. She reconstructed a skull only to state "Dear God in Heaven." and then the book never explains. It's the cliffhanger from hell and makes this one book that cannot stand alone, which is my idea of an excellent thriller.

If you are a Patrical Cornwell fan you will fall in love with this author. Eve Duncon's job is put faces that has been destroyed by time or a murder.By supplying a face it is easier to indentify the victim and than hope the trail will lead to the murder.

Lovely mystery--easy to read and no graphic sex or violence. Just a nice, comfortable read instead of summer re-runs. Not complicated or confusing. Just a nice read--

Iris Johansen has done it again...she pulls you into the story and you do not want to put the book down.
Eve Duncan is a forensic sculptor and the mother of Bonnie, a child that has been murdered. Now Eve's adopted daughter, Jane, is the focus of a twisted psychopath. Will the past revisit Eve? Will she loose Jane, as she did Bonnie or will there be a happy ending? You will have to read this page-turner to find out.

Only Iris Johansen can get away with writing about re-incarnation in a realistisc setting and have me buy into it. In this novel, the adopted child of Eve Duncan is somehow made the trget of a serial killer, Aldo. Aldo is ridding the world of the face of a woman he scorns, and has been dead 2,000 years. The Story is told through quick dream sequences and quick chapters.

Another good book from Iris johansen. Good to the very end
Typical Johansen with fast action and details that keep you on the edge of your deat!
I've read several of the Eve Duncan Forensic thrillers and this is a good one. When asked to reconstruct an "ancient" skull to determine its identity, she finds the face of someone close to her---who isn't even dead yet. A good yarn.
If you like forensic thrillers this is good.
I just like this author. She is not real accurate, in the way of reality but the story is still fun.
I just love all her books with Jane in them. If you have never read her books you are missing out.
I love Eve Duncan....the forensic sculpter who is the main character in this book. This book is a thriller, and will keep you turning pages and missing sleep until you know who the victim and perpetrator are.
I'm a fan of anything Johansen writes. This murder mystery has a twist & I enjoyed it like all the others I've read by her.
An Eve Duncan thriller!
Intriguing suspense
one of my favourites by this author: a definite don't miss forensic artist thriller
This book held my interest the whole way through. I have enjoyed all of the Iris Johansen books I have read so far. I think her main character, Eve Duncan is a real spunky gal no matter what is thrown her way.
Very good Book I reccomend reading it
I really like Iris Johansen. The binding of the book shows that I have read this book several times but it is still in good condition.

on the edge thriller
A forensic sculptor is locked in a deadly duel with a serial killer determined to destroy her.
Another wonder Eve Duncan novel. Iris Johansen keeps the reader guessing at every turn.
Good, but not her best Eve Duncan.
If you lik Iris Johansen you'll love this book....if you have never read anything that she has written you have been missing out.
I absolutely love this author and her characters in this series.
In her latest thriller about Atlanta detective Joe Quinn and the love of his life, forensic sculptor Eve Duncan, Joe gives Eve a skull to reconstruct. Eerily enough, the face resembles 17-year-old Jane MacGuire, who has been offered sanctuary by Eve and Joe after surviving a rough-and-tumble life on the streets. Now it seems that a killer is trying to erase all evidence of her face because it is identical to that of a statue of a woman who died during the eruption of Mount Vesuvius. Several look-alikes have already been killed in Europe, and Scotland Yard sends in hunky Mark Trevor to help. Eve mistrusts him, but Jane, who has had recurring nightmares related to the killings, believes that he's there to help her. Eve and Joe want to protect Jane, but the intrepid teenager knows that unless she confronts the killer, she will live the rest of her life in fear. Johansen has become adept at mixing supernatural elements with intriguing suspense, and her new tale will please both fans and new converts with its unpredictable journey from Atlanta to the archaeological digs of Herculaneum in Italy.
I liked this one very much.
An Eve Duncan book. She puts a face to a skull and discovers that it resembles her adopted daughter.

great read.
This was my first Iris Johansen book and I really liked it. Now I want to go to the beginning of the Eve Duncan books and read all of them.
In this book, Eve and Joe's foster daughter Jane is being targeted by a crazy serial killer and she talks them into allowing her to help them catch him by using her as bait.

Very good suspense, with real imperfect characters that I just want to know more about. Iris Johansen writes with style and insight, and Blind Alley leads you on a wild roller coaster ride of emotions, fear, suspense and terror as she plunges the reader into a world of the unknown.
A very good book, I really like this series. This book keeps you guessing, and saying "No!" several times!

A little bit of supernatural mixed with intrigue provides a good balance for a story that may please you. It did me.
Kept me on the edge from the first chapter 'til the last.

About Forensic Sculpter. Eve Duncan, and a Psychopath out to kill Her adopted Daughter, Jane.
Eve Duncan works on a newly discovered skull with a face erased beyond recognition. She is shocked when the face is revealed to find it is someone she knows and they are not dead yet. Very good book with lots of thrills and intrigue.
Love Iris Johansen but didn't care for this one. A little too 'science fiction' for me.

I enjoy Iris Johanson's books, but the Golden retriever x wolfdog makes me nuts, enough so that I haven't re-read this book. (Yet somehow, the telepathic Golden in the first on eof this set didn't bother me nearly as much- perhaps it's the romnaticisation of the wolf and wolfdogs....) Suspenseful and fun read though, other than that.
AWESOME!
Another good author! I love to read books with the same characters and their lives. This is another wonderful Eve Duncan book.

I found this book at the airport but actually purchased it when I had returned home. This started me on reading others by Johansen.
it was pretty good
Library copy.

Forensic Sculptor Eve Duncan is shocked to see the face she has reconstructed on a murder victim is the face of her 17-year-old adopted daughter. A serial killer has moved through Europe and the USA, killing women who resemble a statue of a woman killed during the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius. Scotland Yard's Mark Trevor has been sent to help find him. Eve doesn't trust him, but Jane believes he can help find the killer before the killer targets her.
I thought the first part of the book was interesting, especially the addition of Mark Trevor. But somewhere in the middle of the story, it lost steam for me. This was more a story of Eve's daughter, Jane, dealing with a serial killer who has specifically targeted her. My rating: 3.5 Stars.

I generally love the Eve Duncan series, but Eve was secondary in this story. It's mainly about her foster daughter Jane and a killer who is after her. Didn't like it as much as other books in this series.
Wonderfully packed with suspense
GOOD READ
Blind Alley is extremely creepy. It is a good read if you like supernatural thrillers. I have to admit I couldn't get into it much and that I had to force myself to finish it. It was too easy of a book to put down.

Good storyline, interesting characters, and some facinating history thrown in to boot. Like Iris Johansen's writing style.
