Very interesting true crime book on Gerald Stano who began killing in the early 70's. The author gives some fascinating historical background info on Daytona Beach where Stano lived for several years. When he was caught he bragged about killing at least 33 people and took LE to many of the locations himself, also drawing a map for the FBI which was forwarded to the local police depts. The author tries to delve into Stano's background to explain what could have went wrong with him to cause his sociopathy and she also gives the psychiatrists reports. I enjoyed the way the author explained in laymen's terms the Florida legal system as applied in this case (I can't say too much, don't want to give the story away). The only thing I disliked about the book is the photographs of some of the victim's bodies that are included which seemed to me an invason of their privacy and that of their families.

The author presents a straightforward account of the crimes of Stano. The most interesting aspect of this story is what happened after Stano was convicted. The author explains the appeals process and the steps taken by Stano's public defender to prevent his execution. Interesting case.
