This is one of the best books I have ever read. It truly does justice to two men - one a white man, the other an Indian - who defy all the rules of that era in that they decided to treat each other as men of honor. Men who kept their word to each other in spite of all the hatred among the two races, all the killing, all the prejudice from both sides. This book will take you into the heart of each in such a compelling way that you can't help but gain new insight into the heart of Cochise and Jeffers. And a moral lesson for mankind - don't look to the color of a skin, look to the heart. A real keeper.
