I don't usually read fantasy, but the Lifetime show Blood Ties drew me in and I just wanted more of the back story. Tanya Huff's writing is fun and her characters are great. I highly recommend the series to anyone who enjoys strong characters, witty dialogue and strange and supernatural situations. Three F's for fun Fun FUN!

I discovered the Vicki Nelson series by accident and only later found out it has also been adapted into a tv series. I have enjoyed all the books in the series, certainly every plot is unique and different and I can't put the book down as I race to find out the ending. My housework has suffered! Huff is an excellent writer and plotter and I like how she develops her characters.

Better than the 1st two (Blood Price & Blood Trail) in my opinion. Involving story of a mummy who sucks the life from innocents in order to prolong his own life...another kind of vampire for Henry Fitzroy and Vicky Nelson to face. This mummy has political savvy and uses local government to torment Vicky and keep his enemies from foiling his plans to raise a new temple in the modern age to a long forgotten dark Egyptian diety...the same diety who granted him immortality thousands of years ago.
Sealed away through unending centuries in a sarcophagus never meant to be opened, he had patiently waited for the opportunity to live again, for the channce to feed on the unwary once more. Now the waiting had come to an end. Brought to the Egyptology Department of Toronto's museum, the seals that imprisoned him chipped away, he reached forth to claim the minds and souls of the unsuspecting city dwellers, to begin building an empire for himself and his god. And only three people had even a hint that anything was wrong.
