I'm usually so-so about Nevada Barr's Anna Pigeon books--I'll read one every year or two, just to see how they're going. This one was good, but not as good as some of the others. (Blind Descent is my favorite.)
I felt that this one dragged things out many (many!) pages beyond what was necessary to tell the story. Nevertheless, it was a clever mystery and I did care about the characters and enjoyed the unraveling of the clues and eventual solution to the mystery.
I visited the Canadian Waterton Lakes National Park--the continuation of Glacier National Park across the border in Canada--a year or two ago, and it is a breathtakingly beautiful place. The book didn't really deliver the look and feel of this marvelous place, but it was still fun.
If you like any of the Barr books, you'll like this one.

As many of Nevada Barr's books this was engaging. It's based in Glacier National Park and is her usual park ranger protaganist, Anna Pigeon. The book provides intersting details regarding grizzly bears and how they are monitored and their status in the wild by park rangers. Good plot, which I didn't wholly figure out in advance which is nice also.
This narration is excellent by Barbara Rosenblat which I have recognized and heard many of her books.
I was able to listen to this book going back and forth to work in 20 minute stints and sure beat the news!!
