Quinn Lennox has no idea why her unusual ability, after being dormant for quite some time, has now become unmanageable. She has started to notice pockets that are forming in the universe and that there is something strange when you look into them. While hunting for her brothers love interest they stumble thru one of these pockets and Quinns life is about to take on a whole new meaning.

Quinn and her brother become separated in Vamp City. Vamp City is an alternate world where vamps rule and humans are just food and slaves. Quinn is lucky enough to land in the hands of the dangerous and sexy Arturo Mazza who the reader will love to hate. Their chemistry can practically be tasted and the reader craves more.

In Quinns favor, her unusual talent has landed her in the role of a sorceress who has been foretold to be the savior of Vamp City but first she must survive Arturos masters treacherous games. Knowing she must escape she must find her brother before he is placed in the gladiator games and to do this she must also play Arturos games. Oh yes, these vamps do love their games.

Action-packed and steamy this vampire horror will have you longing the next installment. You will be shocked at the devious nature of these vamps because there is no holding back when the world is a demented vampires play land. I personally loved that these vampires were bad to the bone yet you know that something is simmering underneath Arturos tough facade. Definitely catered for adult readers only.

This book was NOT a "normal" Pamela Palmer book...

It was incredibly disturbing--a violent, sadistic world of vampire Masters & tortured human Slaves. The book was filled with gruesome, bloody sequences that left me nauseous.

Her heroine, Quinn, was a fighter trying to free herself, but acted so stupidly at times I wanted to smack her myself. Her hero, Arturo, was simply put, an ass. He was a self-admitted liar right up to the end.

Paranormal romance?!?! I don't think so...this book was completely devoid of romance. More like straight-up not-gonna-sleep-tonight horror!

After reading her awesome Feral Warriors series--whose heroes are strong, full of honor & respect, and incredibly passionate--this new series was terrible.

I hope she throws something redeeming into book 2. I'm not sure I can stomach much more vampire torture & gore.

If you enjoy Pamela Palmer's Feral Warriors series I believe you will enjoy this book as well. The lead female character shows strength in her quest to locate her brother in the Vampire Realm/Vamp City. There is also the underlying plot to the story where she is discovering her hidden magical powers and why the Vampires need her. The uncertainty regarding the love/hate relationship between her and the lead vampire in the story makes you want more and for the story to continue. I can't wait to read the second book in the series. This is not a light romance vampire love story like L. Sands or K. Sparks books. It is more gritty and detailed but it is a great read.

Love, love, loved this book! And I tend to be very picky about what I like. I know some find the content a bit dark (understandably so) and perhaps borderlining on horror, and I'm normally not into horror myself, but this book was totally different, the vamp world Palmer creates kept me riveted, and I was very much drawn into the story. Loved the characters of Quinn and the mysterious Arturo. Is he a vamp with some genuine goodness in him? or is he the devious bad guy. You can definitely tell he's conflicted with Quinn. He's attracted to her but also wants to be loyal to his vamp world. Watching him sway back and forth with his treatment of & feelings toward her kept me on my toes. It's a very unique story for a paranormal romance (and yes, I do consider it a romance even though I know some would not) It was my first read by Pamela Palmer so I can't give input of how it is compared to her other works. It has a cliffhanger ending that leaves you wondering, but not so much that you felt it ended right in the middle of the story (I hate books that do that!) I was so eager to read the 2nd installment, which came out in June I think it was, of 2013. I should note that I read this book on my ereader, my Nook. I got it for free, as I do most of my Nook books, but was happy to pay the cost for the 2nd book when it became available. These are definitely keepers! I eagerly await the 3rd book.
