Great action-packed mystery without out the overload of romance you find in so many! I loved it!

This was an exciting book that I couldn't put down. I love the Alex McKnight character. I definitely recommend this book.
If you like action in the cold North you'll like this one. I was chilly reading it LOL but hot enough to keep you warm!
Thriller based in upper peninsula Michigan and northern Canada. Some of the characterizations were okay, suspense pretty good.
This is the 5th book in this series and this guy is GOOD!
What can I say? I'm in love with Alex McKnight. All three books that I've read by Steve Hamilton have been terrific. My husband groans when another arrives in the mail as he knows dinner will be soup or sandwiches and the bed is likely unmade. I cannot put them down; have three more on order. Said enough? Just give one a try but better be warmly dressed as those Michigan winters will chill you right through the book. Fabulous!
All the Alex Mcknight books are great. Set in upper penninsula, Michagin. Really good.
I just finished this book. Loved it, as I have all his other books. It is going on my "keepers" shelf. Thank you for being there, paperbackswap, makes finding the books I look for SO easy. God bless you all and have a healthy, happy New Year.

I love this series, particularly the character of Alex McKnight and the setting in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan setting. However, I was bored by the story line on this one and I couldn't generate enough interest to finish it.
The series is great, it's a private eye noir set in Michigan's Upper Peninsula where summers are short and winters are brutal and cold. I really enjoy the series, but our poor protagonist never seems to catch a break or have a good time. Despite that, this book, and the series is certainly worth reading.
This particular book took our private eye and his friend up to Ontario in search of the friend's brother. It's a page turner!
