A very good mystery. First time reading this author and would read more when I find them.

Very cute cozy, plus I'm now interested in learning more about the art of bonsai, I'd like to give it a whirl. I do want to add one thing that really aggravated me however. It says on the back cover the author lives in Maryland. He obviously used Gomer Pyle for the model as how his Southern character speaks. I'm a Southerner myself and have been married to a native North Carolina Southerner for going on 28 years and I've never once personally said, nor heard him say, "This chere" nor "Shazam". Hopefully he researches his characters a little better for the rest of the series, I'd like to read more Jim Dandy books.

The first of the Elderhostel book series - surely do like them - people who are retired! The description of Hostel experiences are interesting.

#1 in a series - Elderhostel. I somewhat enjoyed the book. They mystery part was good. I wasn't too thrilled with all the references to his erectile dysfunction due to his age. But then, it is written by a guy, so I guess I can't expect something too different. But overall, it wasn't a bad book to read.

Good mystery with lots of twists and turns to the plot and some good romance for us older folks as well! Looking forward to the rest of the series!

I felt this was an compelling and an endearing cozy mystery with a great sleuthing team of Jim and Dodee. It is the first book in the series and I am looking forward to reading more.
an elderhostel mystery - think it is the first in a series
I just read this book (from 1999 ! ) and it was quite good. It was funny that they did not know what email was, but I guess at that point many of us didn't ! Good mystery.
