Her new boyfriend,Peter, the Conscientious Objector, her grandmother, The Pixie, Mr. Pendragon and Gloria, the district nurse.
This book was very surprising for me. I am guilty of judging a book by it's cover, but that is the only problem I could find with this book. I really enjoyed the history of life in England during WWII and the way people had to live. And then to mix in the vampire's, the shifter's, the vixen's and the pixie's, it kept me on the edge of my seat.
I highly recommend this book and this author and would rate this book a 4/5 stars...Can't wait to read the next book in the series called Bloody Awful.

A lot of fun and a good vamp story - highly recommended. Can't wait to read the second book!

Vampire Nazis have parachuted in to Britain during World War II to commit sabotage, and the only people who can stop them are the plucky lady doctor (a rationalist in denial of her otherworldly heritage), her wise and powerful grandmother, her new assistant (dishy but initially despised for his conscientous objector status), and a mysterious old Welshman with unusual strength. Good story and a strong romance, although the period accuracy of some of the dialog is a bit questionable.

The back story is WWII when Germany was attacking (or gonna attack) England the interesting twist is that Germany is using vampires as spies. Won't they be surprised when the vampires turn on them too! I don't usually read about WWII as I find it distasteful but I really liked Dr. Alice Doyle and Peter Watson. Alice and Peter are in the forefront and the war effort is kept as a back story and the various shifters makes for interesting reading.
This book is written by a British author but it reads like it's translated from a language other than English with incorrect verbs and strange wording. (Maybe it was just poorly edited.) I had trouble understanding a lot of the British slang and war terms which caused a delay in reading as I needed to figure out if what they were saying was something important to the story or just filler.

This book is a silly little romp that doesn't take itself seriously - something to pick up when you're not in the mood for heavy reading. It's a ridiculous romantic comedy including vampires, nazis, pixies, dragons, and various were-creatures. You probably already know the plot from other similar books, but it's a reasonably entertaining read.
Warning: This book contains pornographic level sex scenes and is not suitable for people with good taste.
