I understand now why Toni Morrison won the Nobel Prize In Literature. She has such a way with words and to hear her read this story was definitely well worth it. The story, The Bluest Eye, is well written, well read by Toni Morrison & Ruby Dee and at times is sad, introspective and at times a scary look into the human condition. Even though this is an abridged version, the story will pull you in.

This book is well worth 5* and the prize the author got for it. It should be a must read for any american that wishes to get a view into the heart of a small 'black' american girl, while she deals with racism, and social circumstances. This book is very deep and will leave you with deeper understanding.
