Ms Hall Page writes endearing cuddle up mysteries. There is some suspense, mystery, and a little romance. This book is quite a fast read as once you start you won't want to put it down. The books are numbered in series, but by far you don't have to read them in order to enjoy and get to know the charecters. Fun read.

This is a story of a minster and his wife. Faith is always finding dead bodies and solving mysteries. Enjoy thsi author greatly

A little slow in the befinning but picks up speed
An interesting Faith Fairchild mystery. This one doesn't involve an actual body--or at least not a current one, but mysterious diary is found leading her to believe there may have once been a body in the attic.

Faith packs up the kids and her catering business for a semester's stint in Cambridge, where her minister husband, Tom, will teach at Harvard and serve the homeless. In the rambling old house the family inhabits in Cambridge, Faith's children find an old wardrobe that contains . . . not Narnia but a diary from 1946. Using a lost diary as a plot device has become something of a cliche in crime fiction, but here Page uses it quite expertly to explore what's going on in Faith's life. The diary belongs to a young woman who was held prisoner in the house by a rapacious husband. Did she live and escape? Faith caters luncheons, shops with friends, rejoices in her powerhouse sister's marriage, all the while puzzling out what it is she might want and who the woman of the diary might be--using one investigation to fuel the other. While the plot comes to a sudden and very wobbly end, Faith becomes an ever more interesting character, and the recipes included are yummy.

This is a fun mystery series with Faith Fairchild, caterer. The setting here is Cambridge MA on the Harvard campus - if you know Harvard, you'll recognize sites and places. And, if you appreciate the NYC vs. Boston culture, you'll enjoy this too!

Typical "body in the..." cozy mystery but even after 14 books (and I've read most of them) still fresh as well as a fun read ;o)))

The title is a misnomer, it more like "The Captive Woman". There was no body in the attic. Too much historical statistics and description of the state and not enough plot. Not a mystery, more of a suspense novel.
