This book was an awesome. This really helped me understand the world of Uglies a lot better. I would read this book before the rest of the trilogy. It gives you a lot of insight and diagrams of how things really look and what they are. When I was reading the Uglies trilogy, I had a hard time understanding what they were saying. This is like a pocket dictionary to the Uglies world...it is very useful and you wont waste your money when buying it.

This is a guide to the setting of the Uglies "Trilogy." I wasn't particularly fond of the trilogy (though my wife liked it), but wanted to see more of the world building there.

For a GM looking to loot it for ideas, its great - worth the money. Otherwise... well, its interesting. My biggest gripe is that Westerfeld seems to completely ignore the effects of strong magnetic fields on people (plus how lethal scattering a batch of ball bearings under a hoverboard could be).

This is only interesting if you read and liked the Uglies series. I did and did and enjoyed this a lot. It puts everything together: history of the Rusties and Pretty-time, character profiles, technology explanations, etc.
