I have a set of 9 Time Life Books "Foods of the World."  Each book is 100+ pages.  This is a classic set for international cooking! I will trade all 9 books for 6 credits or I can post them and you can order 6 of the books.  They don't have ISBN #'s, so I'm not posting them unless someone wants the set.

Includes: Recipes: The Cooking of... Germany, India, Scandinavia, Pacific & Southeast Asian Cooking, Middle Eastern Cooking, Latin American Cooking, African Cooking, the British Isles, & Vienna's Empire.

Most recipes have ingredients available at normal grocery stores.  The books are in good condition though the covers show some aging.

Please PM me if interested!

I'm looking for cookbooks that are specifically for cooking for one or two people (not the run-of-the-mill cookbooks that make multiple servings). I've already picked her up Where's Mom Now That I Need Her? and the Rachael Ray cookbook with servings for 2,4,6, and 8, but I'd like to help find a few more.

I'm open to virtually anything that fits that bill , but some that are currently listed that would work include:

Cooking for One or Two (Gourmet Cookshelf Series) :: Sonia Allison                                                                                                                         Woman's Day Cooking for One :: Jeri Laber (Editor)
Step By Step, Cooking for One & Two :: Rosemary Wadey
The Little Book of Cooking for One (Little Recipe Books)

Deals, although appreciated, aren't necessary.   :)

Thanks!

Country Italian.  It is a beautiful hardcover book.  The recipes are fairly simple and call for familiar items and familiar brand names.

The College Student's Cookbook.

Great for the person who has left the nest with no kitchen experience!

Review
The College Student's Cookbook is an absolute must for every undergrad in America, male or female, rich or poor, strait-A whiz-kid or borderline dropout. It's chock-full of fun and valuable information, with recipes for dishes college kids can and will actually prepare given the time and budgetary restrictions imposed by the student's lifestyle. New twists on college-fare favorites like Macaroni and Cheese with Stuff in It; Breakfast Burrito Type Things, and Sloppy Joe's - A Warped Version are interspersed among delicious recipes for meals that are low in fat and cholesterol. Not to be missed is the chapter on Meals to Impress Your Date! David Bahr answers the important questions of "What can I make with the stuff I have here? How long will it take to make? and How many dishes will I have to wash? He even provides a shopping list that explains exactly how long each item will keep in a freezer, fridge or shelf (baking soda lasts "until you graduate", while soy sauce lasts "until it's gone"). -- Midwest Book Review

Just posted to my bookshelf  Looney Spoons: Low-Fat food made fun.

Trying to pimp some of my books.  Going to the post office soon, and trying to get out as many as I can in one sweep.

Hello ... this is the first time I've posted here, so I hope I'm doing this right (and in the right place!)

I have five books from the "Practical Cooking" seriesbut none of the ISBN numbers appear to match the right book, so I can't post them here. Instead, I'd like to offer them as a set for 2 points. Each is 32 pages, hardcover, copyright 2003. They have photos of each dish and "step by step" photos as well. Although they only have about 30 recipes per book, there are some good ones in there!

The titles are: Practical Healthy Eating, Practical Fast Pasta, Practical Pasta & Italian, Practical Baking, Practical Rice Dishes

They are all in like new condition from a smoke and pet free home.

Hello!

I'm new to PBS and hope that this is where I should be posting.  I just wanted to let you folks know that I have some Good Housekeeping cookbooks on my shelf that are great for people just learning how to cook (students in their first apartment, newlyweds, kids who want to help mom and dad out at home).  There's a picture for each recipe and also nutritional stats.  They're all really clean without food splatters or anything, no writing in them either (if I edit a recipe, I slide an index card in).  I got them for a bridal shower gift a few years back and would love to pass them on to someone else.

OK, the other 3 are gone but this remains: Light and Healthy Easy and Delicious Recipes (Good Housekeeping Cookbook) (love this one!)

So, please let me know if you're interested!  I'd really appreciate it -- I kind of stupidly used my first 2 credits on whim books that I should have just gone to my local used bookstore for and obtained for the price of shipping.  I take it this happens from time to time (and even if it doesn't, please humor me)!

Happy reading, and happy cooking!
