This collection of Keillor short pieces concentrates, as one might expect from the title, on guys. Specifically, their struggles to get through lives that often seem bewildering or outright hostile. While not a knee-slapper, Keillor definitely puts the "fun" in "dysfunctional", and you'll find a few chuckles and lots of grins between the covers.

Garrison Keillor - what can I say?

Although from the title of the book, you might think only guys would like it, but it's not. Garrison Keillor steps out of Lake Wobegone and shows is very dry wit and aute observations on human nature specifically men. It is funny, nostalgic, with just a touch of schmaltz, to add full bodied flavor. It is a book of short stories that moves at just the right pace to read before going to bed; a few laughs, some all too human misunderstandings, and nothing too gory or goopy to keep you up at night.

This book is a little naughtier than I am used to from Garrison Keillor, but it is very funny!

Keillor has some excellent books, as well as some that are, well, less excellent. Despite having loved other of his works, I found this one tedious and not all that entertaining, and gave up on it halfway through. As a collection of short stories, some were okay, others were a bit pointless. As someone who hoped that this would incorporate elements of the Lake Wobegone stories, I was disappointed.
