This was a good story with interesting world building. There were many things I liked but some annoying elements, as well. Lots of dangers in this post apocalyptic world. And our technology was something they felt was magic and didn't understand. Some of the things left over from our world were lost in translation in an amusing way, such as "Once in a bloomed moon". It's worth reading for the storytelling but it takes some getting used to. Their language and improper use of English was the most annoying thing for me and it was distracting. However if you can get past that it's an entertaining read.
Awesome story! This book is centered around and narrated by a boy named Koli. He lives in a post-apocalyptic world where the population is mostly decimated and people are split up in small villages. Most villagers do not venture out of their area for if you do, you may never return. There is vicious plant life to deal with and left over technology that can kill you. In this world technology is not understood and seen as a form of magic. To wield this magic is to be powerful. That is all Koli wants is to settle down with his crush and become a powerful Rampart (leader). But then Koli meets Monono and his world is turned upside down.
The story and the characters are flawless. I enjoyed everything about this book I can't wait to get my hands on the 2nd book in this series!
