Hello! I'm hoping a Western fan out there might be able to identify a long-lost book for me. I read it about 20 years ago. The main character was either a doctor or a deputy (or both) named Barrowman, or Bannerman, or something like that. At the beginnning of the book, he has to give a medical exam to a woman because some contageous disease was spreading around, and she was highly mortified about being examined. Then there was some sort of long trek or posse search or something. I'm sorry that's all I can really remember. But I have been wanted to re-read this enjoyable book, plus find other books by the same author--if only I could remember the title and who wrote it! Of course, I "lent" the book to someone years ago and never saw it again. But I still remember it all these years later. Does it ring any bells out there with any Western fans? I sure hope so! Many thanks!! |
