I love reading Holly Black's books. She is a definite go-to author for me. I really enjoyed this story but it wasn't a favorite. I do think the whole world in which our shadow can play a different role than what it does was interesting. Our main character, Charlie, was quite interesting as well. I'm not really sure on the rules/make-up of the magical part of the shadows which kept me from getting fully engrossed by the book. Other than that, it ended with me wanting more. Would love to continue with the story.
