If you're looking for a fun gift for a milestone birthday that some might consider "useless" (like my husband's 60th surprise party!) this is a great little book. As the cover says, "Thousands of things you didn't think you nneeded to know.... and probably don't". Give it a shot!

Approximately 7 factoids per page, 286 pages, I'll let you do the math. Many of them seem more useful than most information I run across during the day. A couple picked at random: It takes a plastic container 50,000 years to start decomposing. Reindeer have scent glands between their hind toes.
