I am interested in reading some books about historical murders. I recently read The Devil In The White City by Eric Larson. I put some on my WL about the murder of Desmond Taylor. I put some on my reminder list about Mary Todd, The Brown Palace, Evelyn Nesbit and a few others. I've read books about The Black Dahlia and Jack the Ripper. Looking for 1950's and earlier. (crimes are 1950's or earlier books can be published any time). Also mobster related books but about older times like Al Capone era.

Have you read Patricia Cornwell's research study of Jack the Ripper? It really puts forth some different and new info on his crimes. book Title: Portrait of a Killer, Jack the Ripper-- Case Closed How about "Most Evil" about the Black Dahlia Avenger, Lipstick Murders, and Zodiac? it's by the retired dectective, Steve Hodel, who is the son of the serial killer that the book proposes was the perp in ALL these serial kilings! He does a thorough job of researching and connecting these crimes--something that the police never considered! Oh, I agree-- The Monster of Florence was great-- one of the best true crime books I've read. Last Edited on: 8/29/12 8:58 PM ET - Total times edited: 3 |
