I liked the heroine's unusual profession and the hero's innate kindness. This book had so many interesting things going on that to spell them out here would be unfair to the next reader. Suffice it to say that you won't be bored.
I highly recommend the author's first book, Almost a Gentlemen, a fascinatingly, sensual read.

I really enjoyed this story because it was a love story that centered on the one thing I enjoy "books" :) I'm not usually into these romance novels because I read way too many Daniel Steele and Harlequin romances when I was growing up and got burnt out on them, but this was a really good story.
I enjoyed the fact that it was told from another "era" and it envoked many emotions ranging from laugh-out-loud funny to danger and excitement, to romance.
On a five-star rating I would rate this story a 3 because it was very enjoyable overall.

Pam Rosenthal has a unique style, and this is not a typical romance, although it is quite erotic and centers around a love story. The writing is very literary, and the characters are very French. Meaning the attitudes are different than the usual Georgian or Regency era historical that has British characters. One of the obstacles to the HEA seemed unsurmountable, it looked hopeless to me. It was quite original the way the author got around it. I was totally engrossed and I found that this story stuck in my head after I finished the book. I look forward to reading more of her work.
