My first book by this author. It was an interesting story. Generations and family relationships, and best friend relationships-my favorite kind of stories! There were a lot of interactive stories going on throughout this book, but it wasn't the kind of book that I couldn't wait to pick it up again, or I didn't want to put it down. I'm going to read something else by her, because I did like her writing, and I like when chapters center on one character at a time.
For a book with "bookshop" and "water's end" in the title, the story has little to do with either. What the book does have are many elements for a story about women, family, secrets, small town life, and finding direction in life. The Bookshop at Water's End by Patti Callahan Henry is a book to be read on a casual afternoon at the water's edge. In other words, it is a nice easy summer beach read.
