The first book in Roberts breathtaking trilogy. Set in western Ireland, the lives and loves of the Concannon sisters - modern women of ambition and talent. A very easy read, hated for it to end. Excellent!
Helpful Score: 1
First in a series, includes Born in Ice and Born in Shame also, about three sisters. Set in Ireland.
I have all 3 books in this trilogy, and they were great!!!!!
One of Roberts' best - got me hooked on her books
Title is the same, cover is different.
Very quick, easy, enjoyable read!
Ohhh so much fun! Sexy, sweet, funny! I love Nora's books and this was no different. Now on to Born in Ice!
Nora Roberts did it again.Maggie Concannon, a glassmaker. Rogan Sweeney, a gallary owner helps her build a lucrative business, Then things between them begin to happen.....
This is the tale of a fiery artist who can't hide from her past or from a love that is...Born In Fire!
I truly enjoyed this book. Just started the second one and love that one as well.
Nora Roberts is a wonderful storyteller. This is the first in a trilogy, which should definitely be read together and in order. The second book is called, "Born in Ice" and the third is called "Born in Shame". The three books are the stories of three sisters, each born in a different part of their parent's lives. I absolutely love it when I get to experience different people in a family, whose lives I'm already familiar with from another story.
This first book tells the story of the oldest sister, whose great love in life is glassblowing. She is pursued by and finally falls for a curator who loves her work before he ever meets her.

Wonderful. Follow along with these three sisters as they each find their dream.

The story of how Maggie Concannon overcame her struggles and became her own woman, Born in Fire is a wonderful story of ambition and love. Maggie is the fiery redheaded older daughter of Maeve and Tom Concannon and isn't afraid to show her temper. She grows up in a home where she is loved by her father but scorned by her mother. Will she get her revenge or show kindness in return?
Spite fire Maggie Concannon steps out of the flames from her furnance and lays down her metal heating rods to shape glass and butts heads with Rogan Sweeney who won't take no for an answer.
If you read Nora Roberts than you have to read the first book in the fire and ice serious you won't be let down.

A wonderful Irish love story rooted in the rugged landscape of County Clare. It is impossible for the reader to not fall in love with the scenery as well as the two main characters, Maggie and Rogan.
Gifted, reclusive, stubborn freespirited Maggie Concannon is a glassmaker whose exquisite works are more than objects of beauty - they are reflections of her own true nature. One man saw the soul in her art, and vowed to help this complex woman build a lucrative career. When gallery owner Rogan Sweeney came to Maggie's isolated studio, her heart was enflamed by their fierce attraction - and her dark past was slowly healed by a gentle and forgiving love...
About a glass artist and her art dealer who owns a gallery.
First in Series; introduces characters well and made me want to read the next book. I love Nora Roberts, and I love Ireland; what a combination!
Really enjoyed this.
Loved it and looking forward to reading the next installment in the trilogy :)

i give this book 5 stars
The first in the "Born In" trilogy about the lives of three Irish sisters is a light, fast-paced novel set in the Irish countryside.
Love this series.
GREAT!!!! Nora Roberts is the greatest!!
Another GREAT trilogy from Nora Roberts. I loved it!

I loved Maggie and I loved Rogan. I'm getting to know Roberts' writing and what to expect of it, now. I have learned to wait for it. It builds slowly but the foundation is worth the waiting. The side stories were beautiful as well. The secondary characters are as deep and real as as the main characters. I rate this one a A- .
A great romance novel!! Can't wait to read the other books in this trilogy.
Great book by Nora Roberts! First book in the Born In trilogy.
part of series about the bodine family and 3 sisters.
Ok not like other Roberts books.
Book one in the BORN IN trilogy.
There is no doubt Irish rose Maggie is her father's daughter. When her father dies, Maggie throws herself into her artwork. She is happy hiding from the world in her studio. Then city-slicker Rogan comes alon, and refuses to take no for an answer.

Great book 1 in what I am sure is to be a awesome trilogy. Born In Fire is a story about Maggie, who is a glass blower. It is heart warming and I was totally entranced in the story.
First in the Irish trilogy
I really enjoyed this book. It a fast read. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did
a nice romance for a fiery red head and a cool collected man.

Great book
First in the Born In trilogy.. Excellent book. I liked it
It was intriguing and kept you a little on the edge of your seat to see what Nora Roberts was going to do with the characters. It is a love story but it also has intrigue and suspence in it. Most people think the world of their children but this mother doesn't. she loves her in her own way, but they both need more., so enjoy reading it.
One of her best trilogies.

From Publishers Weekly
The first in a projected trilogy about the lives of three Irish sisters, Born in Fire gets the series off to a fine start, telling the story of talented glass-artist Maggie Concannon's contentious relationship with Dublin gallery owner Rogan Sweeney. Country-dwelling Maggie is otherworldly, prickly and outspoken, while Rogan is an urban sophisticate; nevertheless, the attraction that springs up between this unlikely pair is both believable and compelling, thanks to Roberts's (Private Scandals) skillful character development. Lacking melodramatic overtones or strange twists of fate, the plot may seem less than exciting, but the conflicts Maggie and Rogan face are refreshingly realistic and the characters themselves, well-rounded and likable, will keep readers engaged.

Excellent as are all her books!
Born in Fire highlights Margaret Mary Concannon, the eldest sister, a glass artist with an independent streak as fierce as her volatile temper. She is a woman who is both comforted and torn apart by family, and whose ambitions will lead her to discover herself and her talents. Hand blowing glass is a difficult and exacting art, and while she may produce the delicate and fragile, Maggie is a strong opinated woman, a Clare woman, with all the turbulence of that fascinating west country. Her relationship with sophisticated Dublin gallery owner, Rogan Sweeney, won't be peaceful.
This is the first book of Roberts BORN IN trilogy.

loved it
First book of the Born In trilogy. The second & third books are Born in Ice and Born in Shame.
Reclusive Mary Margaret Concannon is a gifted artist and glass blowing is her medium. Maggie's work has caught the eye of gallery owner Rogan Sweeney who travels to County Clare to offer her a deal. Rogan wants to feature Maggie's art at his World Wide Galleries. If she will give him exclusive rights to her work, he will make her rich. Money has never been at the top of Maggie's wish list, but it would certainly help her and her sister pay her family's debts, and allow them to move their mother, a bitter and demanding woman, into her own home and away from theirs.
This is the first book in the Concannon Sisters trilogy. Maggie is an interesting character who is very upfront with her feelings and tells it like it is. She can be very defensive about her art and her life, which sometimes grated on me. Occasionally I just wanted her to calm down and step back. Rogan is wonderful. He knows what he wants and will work to get it. They strike sparks off each other which leads to a highly appealing relationship. My rating: 4 Stars.

Love Roberts in any of her series.
First book in a trilogy. Good book, I am on #3 now.
Ever since travelling to Ireland, I love books with Irish settings. I love books that I can get lost in and I was able to do that with this one.
