This was better than the past couple of books in this series. However, she needs a better editor since the tome could be about 25% less and still tell the same story.

This is a story of a family outing that went to h### literally. Big, bad Hauk is stuck with two squabling teenagers on an Andarian coming of age rite for his nephew. First, Thia (Nyk's dating age daughter) arrives for a wilderness camping trip with a retinue of trunks in tow. Then a whole bunch of bounty hunters starts shooting at him. That begins a series of escallating skirmishes that leads to a turning point in the overall arc of the League series. There is no big battle scene like some earlier books. Just a few smaller ones to interrupt important conversations.

I liked the plotline. I wish the editing had been tighter (unless she contracturally had to fill out 600+ pages). The second half is one big reunion party, as all our past heroic couples make their appearence for Hauk and Sumi. Which just leaves me with a coupla questions. How did so many royals end up on the street or the League? And when will kids stop coming out of the wood work?

Tune in for the next episode of the Sentella versus the League ...

I've been a huge fan of this series and this one doesn't disappointed. Kenyon does such a good job of creating ruthless but incredibly sweet males. Yes, the length of her books are daunting but I always want more.

The first warning is that you have to read others in the series first, at least a few of them. Without doing that you would get lost and fail to appreciate all the side characters. They squabble a lot of provide a lot of comedy relief. I loved that Kenyon included all the characters from the pass in this book.

She does need to get a better editor though because there were a few name mistakes or sentence structures that was confusing as to who was talking to whom.

Summi and Dancer complimented each other and I am glad the book didn't spend too much time whining about the past. There were times I was frustrated with Dancer's loyalty but I guess that's part of why I love him as well. I also adore that Summi became tough out of necessity and that fighting isn't something she loved.

Great addition to the series. Can't wait to read more.

Ick!
A struggle to read because 1. Not interesting, 2. unpronounceable words 3. too many characters introduced without development.

I tried skipping chapters and it didn't help.
I gave up.

Ick!

Hauk, one of the fiercest Andarion warriors ever born, is also one of the founding members of Sentella, an organisation that has declared war on the terrifying League that rules the Ichidian universe.

Sumi Antaxasis is the best assassin the League has ever trained and failure is not an option. When she is assigned Hauk as her target, Sumi is sure of her quick and easy success.

However, things are never that easy and Hauk is far more skilled than the League thought. As Sumi hunts him down she discovers something that could not only destroy Hauk but all of Sentella.

But she has her own enemies hunting her down and suddenly Sumi's only chance for survival is to place her trust in the man she was sent to kill but is he just playing a game that could send Sumi to her grave?
