This is the 3rd book of the 'born in' trilogy set in Ireland. It's my favorite of the 3 followed closely by Born in Ice (probably because these are my favorite 2 of the 3 sisters!).Shannon is the stepsister they found out about and she just discovers her 'father' wasn't her 'real' father on her mother's death bed then right after the funeral the private investigator shows up at her door with the news that her'family' is looking for her. So she heads off to Ireland not really wanting to or knowing why but being very independent she has a hard time with the decision to give up her career and stay for someone she loves and who loves her or going back to her career and continuing to climb the ladder. She also struggles with continuing to use her gift for painting/art in the advertising world or the artistic world as well a being scrappy enough to hold her own against her sisters' mother a total you-know-what! tough girl yet soft hearted.

This book is apart of a trilogy. I have not read the other two which are Born in Fire and Born in Ice. But they are on my list as a must to read later on.

Graphic Artist Shannon Bodine has worked hard to get to the top of the corporate ladder. But her world is shaken when she learns that she was the result of her mother's secret relationship with Thomas Concannon. She also learns that she has two sisters living in Ireland who have been searching for her. Shannon soon travels to County Clare to meet Maggie, Brianna and their families. Getting to know them is a slow and awkward process, but meeting their next door neighbor makes the trip easier. Murphy Muldoon is a hardworking farmer who loves the land. But one look at Shannon and he knows he has met the woman of his dreams.
This is a very satisfying ending to Nora Roberts' Concannon Sisters trilogy. I loved Shannon's relationship with her sisters, especially Maggie. I also enjoyed Murphy's confidence that Shannon was the woman for him. My only problem was the past life story which didn't work for me. My rating: 4.5 Stars.

Third in the series. Classic Nora Roberts romance, set in Ireland. Loved all three books!
Nora Roberts writes in a way that makes one feel they know the people she is writing about. You share the feelings of those people. I enjoyed all three of the books in this series. LaVerne
The third in Nora Roberts' Born In... series, Born in Shame reveals the name and location of the third Concannon sister. Born in America to two Irish parents, Shannon Bodine is afraid or unwilling to seek out her family history. She takes a trip to Ireland, to County Clare, on an open invitation from Brianna. Not expecting to find anything but a quiet vacation spot, Shannon finds her family, her home, and the love of her life.
3rd book in the Nora Robert's romantic "IRISH" trilogy.....

This was my favorite of Nora Roberts series! These stories were highly romantic and beautifully written. I will miss the characters... they almost became like family. 5 stars on all 3.
Third of the Born In trilogy, following Born in Fire and Born in Ice. The story of an illegitimate daughter who makes her way to Ireland to find her father's family, including her two half sisters.
Nora is always great.
An absolutely fabulous trio of books.
The last in the "Born In" trilogy about the lives of three Irish sisters is a light, fast-paced novel set in the Irish countryside.
As always, I loved it. A beautiful end of the series.
3rd in the "Born Irish" series
This was an awsome book. Full of warm feelings. Lots of romance. Some tears. Great Great book.
The tale of an American artist who can't deny her Concannon roots or the passion she feels for an extraordinary man.....Born In Shame!
i am sorry to see the trilogy end.
Shannon Bodine finds her Irish roots and family and romance in Ireland.
If you love Ireland you will love this series!
a talented graphic artest shannonbodine has just learned of her real father.
Another great Nora Roberts Trilogy
Great end to trilogy!
great book
Her life turned upside-down after learning the identity of her real father, successful graphic artist Shannon Bodine reluctantly sets out to meet her family in County Clare and discovers the meaning of true love.
This trilogy was not one of my favorites. I've read almost all of her books, and this trilogy just really felt disappointing.
Third book in the Irish trilogy.
I very much liked the first two books of the series, but this last one disappointed me. However it has all the elements of the first two- vivid and loving descriptions of Ireland and multi-dimensional, unique male protagonists. If you're into the whole "reborn lovers from ancient magical times, flashbacks to those past lives, omg, we were totally meant to be together" thing, you'll like it. I... didn't, so much. I love fantasy, don't get me wrong- I just can't stand the cliched, new-age-y way Nora Roberts writes fantasy.
GREAT BOOK IF YOU READ BORN IN FIRE, AND BORN IN ICE YOU HAVE GOT TO READ THE THIRD IN THIS TRILOGY
Great series.
This has been a really good series. This book is the last of the three. Once again, Roberts does not disappoint with her vivid descriptions of Ireland and interesting characters. One of my favorite Roberts series yet!
A must for any Nora fan
The final in the trilogy.....One of her best!!!!
this is the 3rd in the born in trilogy..i have also listed the other 2,,i read all these books in 4 days, as they were so good.
Romance filled with charm and timeless spirit of Ireland. The new tale of the Concannon sisters. Thoroughly enjoyed!
My favorite trilogy from Nora Roberts and this was no exception.
Great ending to a wonderful trilogy!! Loved it!
I liked this series a lot.
Another GREAT trilogy from Nora Roberts. I loved it!
This is part of a triology. Just wanted to warn ya. I read all three, but some of the others never got back to me.
The third book of this trilogy and was one of the better one of all of them. Loved the whole series.
I've dreamed of Ireland. Of a land where there was magic in the mists, dark, brooding mountains that held secrets, and green fields that rolled into forever. And that is what I found when I went there.
I've talked with many of my friends and family who have been to Ireland. Ivariably those roots that were transplated from that country in the past all felt a tug when they stepped onto Irish soil. I know I did. There was a recognition, a sense of knowing, even before you took the first breath, just what the air would taste like.
There's a beauty in the little village with its pub and crooked streets, in the bustle of cities like Galway, in the cliffs that tower over the ocean, and the fields sleeping under the mists. There are simple things, like the farmer leading his cows across the road, and the grand ones like the ruins of a castle standing centuries old beside the winding ribbon of river.
There are stone circles dancing in a farmer's filed, and fairy hills in the forests. And just as magical are the flowers blooming in the well-tended garden or the taste of fresh scones at tea time. Simple things, and grand ones. That's what I found in Ireland.
For Born In Shame, the last book of my Born In trilogy, I wanted to bring a woman, an American, to Ireland for the first time. To give Shannon Bodine her roots, her family, and a romance that would suit the contrasts and endurance of Ireland. To give to her that magic of simple and grand things.
She did a great job in putting these things into her trilogy. Hope you enjoy them as much as I did.

Excellent book, This is the third in the "born in" trilogy..
Wonderful. Follow along with these three "sisters" as they each find their dream.
One of Nora Robert's better series.
A very satisfying end to the trilogy.
This is the third book to a great triology. Shannon comes to Ireland in search of knowing her father that she has never met and meets 2 sisters and discovers a family.
This tale of Shannon, an American artist who can't deny her Concannon roots-or the passion she feels for an extraordinary man
The final installment in Roberts's Ireland-based trilogy about three sisters who are brought together by a packet of old love letters, tells the story of Shannon Bodine, the American-born half-sister of Maggie (Born in Fire) and Brianna (Born in Ice). There are few surprises here?the characters and basic plot have been deftly set up in previous novels, but the story takes on an unexpected poignancy when Shannon reluctantly accepts Maggie and Brie's invitation to visit Ireland. Shannon plans a quick trip, just long enough to satisfy her curiosity about her sisters and the father they shared. What she hadn't planned on was finding herself, and the man from another lifetime who haunts her dreams. With prose that's lively and compelling, Roberts' creates exceptional characters whose relationships with each other develop and grow, and live on in the reader's imagination and heart.

This is the conclusion to the Born In series. The first two books are Born in Fire and Born in Ice. These stories are set in Ireland.
I love Nora Roberts and this does not dissapoint !!!

After reading the First two books in the series Born In Fire and Born in Ice I was excited to read the third book in the series by Nora Roberts. Born in Shame was my favorite in the series!
Classic Nora Roberts. Great read.
The last book of Roberts wonderful trilogy of western Ireland, the Concannon sisters, and their American "surprise". The description of the lush Irish landscape, steeped in mysticism and legend, brings all three books to a wonderfully fullfilling close. A great writer.
This is the last book in the Concannon Sisters trilogy of western Ireland. Ending with an american sister bound to her Concannon roots. A terrific ending for this trilogy.
In the last of the Nora Roberts Born trilogy, an American woman visits Ireland for the first time. The story gives Shannon Bodine her roots, her family, and a romance that would suit the contrasts and endurance of Ireland.
Third in the Born In.. Series. A fine read.
Number 3 in a trilogy - not as good as the first in the series - maybe I was tired of them? But it was still good and if you like the Irish background, you'll like this one.
The last book in the 'Born in Trilogy'. This was one of Nora's best trilogies.
Book 3 of the Irish Trilogy. Completes the charm of the Concannon family. The trilogy was fun to read.
Abook about Ireland and the roots that Shannon Bodine has there.
