This book is so cute!!
All the "Borrowers" books are cute, entertaini ng and believable. I am keeping this one with my other Mary Norton books.
2nd in a series, you really should read "The Borrowers" first, although, honestly, I was pretty tired these characters' nattering by the 2nd book. Written in 1959, takes place in turn-of-the century England.

The older Borrowers stare at Arrietty in horror. She has been talking with the boy Tom again, and now she tells them the humans are leaving the house for good.
"We're done for," groans Pod.
"No more food, no clothes, no heat, no water," mourns his wife.
The Borrowers must leave. But where will they go? And can they survive the dangerous trip downstream--in an old tea kettle?
More fascinating adventures of The Borrowers--those tiny people who share old houses with humans.
