I guess I am going to be the only negative review - but I really did not like this very much. I found the writing choppy, I couldn't get involved with the characters, and it felt like Ms. Childs was trying to take the Tea Shop series and make it a little more hardboiled. There is some version of profanity on almost every page, whereas with tea shop there is next to none. I really felt like I had to plough my way through the book. And the some of the character names seemed weird; Wren, Shamus, and a grown woman called "Baby". I see though that alot of you really like the book, so if you haven't read it I would recommend it to you based on these many positive reviews. Hopefully you will like it much more than I did.
Laura Child's created a wonderful character named Carmela. You won't get enough and want to read book 1 and 2 of this series. This is her third book in the series. It has wonderful scrapbooking tips in this book. When you finish this book you will want to start scrapbook page.

Carmela Bertrand, owner of Memory Mine scrapbooking store, has outdone herself again, making beautiful place cards for a pre-wedding dinner. However, no one gets to enjoy them because before dinner, Carmela finds the groom-to-be dead. Why would anyone want the owner of a second-hand bookshop dead? What secret was he hiding from his fiancee? Carmela won't rest until she finds out.
Another great little "cozy" mystery from Laura Childs, equally fun for scrapbookers and mystery readers. While I feel this one was a little weaker than the previous two scrapbook mysteries, it is still a fun read.

Enjoyable - classic Laura Childs.
Another great Laura Childs Scrapbooking Mystery. After continuing on with this series I'm enjoying the "whole" more. The characters are so unique, setting totally new to me, customs of the area something new to think on. These books have been an enjoyable vacation from my own reality.

Childs is getting better with mystery pace with each book in the series. I love the description of New Orleans and the food that she gives in each book. Being an avid scrapbooker myself, I find the tips she gives to be unique and helpful for when you're stuck in a rut, but yet they do not take away from the mystery either. Combine all of that and you get one heck of a good, quick read.
Wonderful for those of us that like scrapbooking and some helpful hints as well.

Murder and romance in pre-Katrina New Orleans-set in a scrapbooking shop. Third in the series.
This series is set in New Orleans, and is a lot of fun to read just to learn about what is unique to that area of the country. The story is fun as well

Scrapbooking cozy mysteries are fun, enjoyalbe, give you the history and happenings in New Orleans. Camelia and her shop always has something going on and then of course, a murder happens and she has to help solve the mystery. Great scrapbooking suggestions and receipes in the back of the book. From Laura Childs, author of the popular Tea Shop Mysteries, comes scrapbooking shop owner Carmela Bertrand, who delights her customers with the sophisticated looks she achieves with their scrapbooks. But when a fiance winds up dead before the "I do's," she learns that when it comes to love, there's no such thing as picture-perfect . . .
Carmela is creating custom place settings for a friend's pre-wedding party at a French Quarter restaurant when she makes a shocking discovery -- the intended groom, with a butcher knife protruding from his body. When the heartbroken bride asks her to look into the case, she can't say no. But Carmela soon finds that the victim had a much more shadowy past than he let on, and a menu of malicious meddlers is making things tougher than day-old gumbo for everyone involved. Now, Carmela must help her friend pick up the pieces while wrapping up a murder that has more than one lethal loose end . . .
