2 stars. Just not my cup of tea.
I admit that for the most part, everything about this book is pretty much what you'd expect and there is nothing wrong with that. It's the story of Rianna, and Sibyl with power over the element earth. She is the leader of her triad of Sibyls, and they basically protect their corner of the world from evil demons and the like. She meets Creed, who seems to be part demon. The attraction between them is instant and electric.
So really my complaints are: too many cliches (not enough originality in the plot or the romance), and sloppy world building. I found the plot predictable. I didn't love either main character, and I didn't feel like they developed much. Overall I was just bored. Usually what saves a series at that point is an interesting world/adversary/mystery. But by page 260 I felt like too much had happened without really giving us any clue as to what was really going on, who the villains were and what motivated them, or what the 'big picture' is for the Sibyls overall. So yeah, there was not enough to hold my attention.
To give credit where it's due, I thought the chemistry between Rianna and Creed was very good--and there are many very sexy moments. And while I found the Sibyls and there powers to be awfully cliched as mentioned, I really thought some of them had a lot of potential for future books. So I'd recommend trying the book for yourself for these reasons, because it has a few redeeming qualities.

This is an amazing book! Riana Dumain is the leader of a witch triad and they are fighting the Legion - demons who are trying to take over the world. In walks hotter than hell Creed Lowell, half-human, half-demon NYPD Occult Unit cop. The sparks fly and they can't keep their hands off each other. Creed is fighting this war right along side the witches and falls head over heels for Riana.
The battles are spectacular and the leadership of the witches and of the Legion is very well thought out. This is an amazing book! I can't wait to read about the next "sister" in Bound by Flame.

Great read! An outstanding action oriented paranormal.
The heroine is a Sibyl, a worker of elemental earth magic. Her life path is clear before her - fight to protect the innocent, her triad, and her sister Sibyls. None of which prepares her for the detour caused by the hunky NYPD cop who doesn't seem to be wholly human...
Order REALLY matters with this series...
Dark Crescent Sisterhood:
1 Bound by Shadow
2 Bound by Flame
3 Bound by Light

The 1st book in the trilogy introduces the 3 main characters who each have different powers to help them protect humanity from the Legion (evil group). I know it sounds like an episode from the Justice League cartoons but trust me its a pretty good story. My only complaint is towards the middle it started to drag & I ended up skimming through some of it. I have the 2nd one in my TBR pile.

This is the first book I've read by Windsor; she is now one of my favorite authors! Strong women and strong men working together while falling in love!

I wasn't sure how I was going to like this book after reading the first chapter, but as I continued on, I got hooked on the story and the characters. I loved the way that the mystical powers were brought into the story. I loved the fact that I could close my eyes and imagine the scenes unfolding. A fun, exciting read!

Loved it, although all the supernatural stuff is quite a stretch for the imagination!

This is my first book by Anna Windsor, and I absolutly loved it. I have the second book in my TBR, and the 3rd wishlisted. I loved the characters, especially the fire sybil Cynda, she seems like my kinda girl. I can't wait to read her story in the next book.

At first I didn't like the main female characters. But after awhile they grow on you. It started out slow for me but picked up speed and kept me interested. I will read the others in the series.

Decent read. The beginning of the story was kinda boring at times and I wasn't sure if I even found the characters very interesting. It was a slow start for sure. Though towards the end of the book it started to look up. Riana and Creed were HOT and I was excited to finally here more about "The Legion". The ending was good. Starting bk 2 soon since I already have it. Hope I'm not disappointed and that I don't have to skim the first 3/4 of the book.

Excellent book. Loved the characters.
Was so excited to start this series...I love it when I can get all of them at once. Started to read "Bound by Shadow" and.....could only get passed the first few chapters. A big disappointment for me because I so wanted to like these books.
The Female lead is suppose to be a strong character and she falls flat. Her first encounter with the Male lead made me roll my eyes and laugh. I mean, she grabs him by the "junk" to control him and then blushes?? Really?? Not in the least bit "sexy".
It just didn't click with me...

I'm not into thinly-veiled soft porn/romance novels, so this one I didn't even bother to finish. The supernatural plot was completely secondary to that.
Excellent read.
