As a writer, Lustbader is no Ludlum. That said, the plot is as convoluted and intricate as anyone could write. Bourne slips into & out of trouble, other characters from past novels appear, including an archenemy he believes has already been killed. Prepare to spend some long hours with this book ... it's not a quick-read. Best read when you have no distractions and can concentrate on the ever-changing points of view.
This novel fell within the thriller pedigree and followed the Bourne series, however it didn't seem as eloquently plotted as a Robert Ludlum piece. Great book, but could have been greater.

Ludlum must be getting a ton of $ to lend his name to this awful book. I thought Lustbader was decent but this book is hard to get through. Poor character development, a plot that is far far too complicated and not understandable. A good editor would have cut at least a third of the book. I found myself skipping whole paragraphs that were just fill. Compared to the works of James Lee Burke and Daniel Silva this book is not in the same class...nor in the same class of the Bourne books that Ludlum himself wrote.
