This was actually a good book - makes you think about things. About
if we made different choices where our lives would be.

This was a good, quick read about an adolescent with two self involved parents who longs for family. Decisions he makes lead him to regret, danger, love, and self reflection.

There is a pro-choice slant in part of the book that may bother some.

Novel takes place in 1971. Before you start reading, make certain you have nothing else to do. You really get to care for the main character, Dominick. It is said, but unfortunately that is how alot of people grow up. He drives around with his mother looking for his father (her husband) in bars and his mistress's house.

After reading my first John Searles book, "Help for the Haunted," I was eager to read something else by him. "Boy still Missing" has great reviews. I believe it it his first published novel. I didn't expect it to reach the heights of "Help for the Haunted." I enjoyed the first half of the book but couldn't get past that. It just went too far over the top for me to believe or accept into to buy the premise of the story any longer. The question that the tale asks about abortion and adoption is a touchy one for me as well. I think others should give it a try even if it wasn't for me.
