No three+somes like in other rough rider series books but the sex was still hot. That said I thought Cold and Indys story was one of the best. The complexeties of addiction/recovery were handled well by the author but didnt bog down the story. There were a couple of unique people who found home with each other. Great love story with great sex to match. Cant wait to read Cam's story next...

Colt has been in love with India for 3 years and considers her his best friend. He wants to take things further, but is uncertain that India feels the same way about him. India does feel the same way about Colt, but she's never noticed his interest in her. They decide to take things to the next step, but they have to learn to deal with issues from their past.

Branded as Trouble started out great; I absolutely love the tension between Colt and India. It was easy to see how much they cared about each other, though they were oblivious to the fact themselves. However, I felt things fizzled once they consummated their relationship. The affection was still there, but there were issues of trust that they had to deal with. I liked the fact that thought they argued constantly, they fought to make it work for them. I think because of their friendship, communication between them was easier, though they both screwed up at times. Colt had to deal with the continued negativity from his family, but I felt that the resolution was a little too pat. I liked this book, but I didn't love it.

Colt McKay is indeed a troubled soul. He made my heart ache in an earlier Rough Rider book with his addiction-fueled self abuse. Now he is 3 years into his sober living and ready to give love a chance. He is devoted to his AA sponsor and their animal attraction soon takes over. Miss James provides an honest and raw view of just how scary physical and emotional attraction can be to the addict. She carefully and respectfully reflects the AA program and its recommendations re relationships.
Even though this Rough Rider has a darker base, the sexual heat is still there in spades. You can count on the McCays to get your blood pumping! 4 stars. Heartily Recommended!

I felt like India's character was TOO out there for a cowboy like Colt. I didn't enjoy it as much as I could have.
