I know the others who rated it, rated it low but I really liked this book. It started slow, but kept my interest. The ending was pleasant and this book shows how some young girls can fall for the wrong kind of guy, regardless of race.
Did not finish. I rarely do not finish a book. I usually make myself push through but this was due back at the library when I only had 1/3 read. And it just wasn't interesting me. It was slow and depressing seeing a cycle of poverty brought on by teenage pregnancy and stupid decisions when young. Plus abuse plus alcoholism. There was nothing uplifting. Maybe it would have gotten better but 1/3 in and I wasn't seeing it.
