Adriana Trigiani's Brava, Valentine is probably the best book she has written that I've read. From the wedding experience of her 80+ grandmother in Italy, and the families' excitement; there is much to chuckle about. Velentine's own experience with romance will take the reader on an adventure. Valentine is in the midst of assuming the family business that her grandmother leaves learning to work with her brother, Alfred. Valentine travels to Buenos Aires on business, her love of life, Gianlucca meets her. Disappointment comes. Read the book to learn what brings her sadness: the failing of business or love... The book will keep you turning page after page. The Angelini elite shoe designers lead a very interesting life...

This is the first book I've read by this author. I've seen her mentioned by another PBS member which encouraged me to read one of her books. I enjoyed the way the author describes places in this book. I also got a few giggles about some of the things mentioned between the family. I look forward to reading more books by this author.

I enjoyed the first one, the second one did not compare. It was however, a good escape and fast read. And, sometimes that is just what one needs! There is a group of us that enjoy Trigiani and talking about the characters she develops.

The second book with the Angelini family that is still centered around Valentine, but with her family taking a close second. Valentine must decide in this book how to take the family shoe making business to the next level, but also how to work in the shop without her grandmother and with her brother. Fantastic family drama ensued!
I raved yesterday about the characters and the setting that Adriana Trigiani has in her books and with this review trying to keep it mostly spoiler free - I have to say that I love how Trigiani balances the story and the way she moves it forward effortlessly. With the second book in the series, I was concerned that it may falter and stall out, but instead, I was just even more invested in how these characters were going to interact. I didn't wait one minute when I finished this one to start the third!

This was a fun read. Very relaxing. It was easy to relate to the characters and the Italian way of life. I look forward to reading the next in the series!
