This was the last book (4) in the Cape Refuge series and the best one I thought. I couldn't put it down. Terri Blackstock is a wonderful author and really makes you feel for the people in the story.

Book four in the Cape Refuge Series. A book that keeps you on the edge of your seat wondering what is going to happen next. One of the best in the series yet.

I should have started with book one, but oh well. I really like Terri Blackstock's writing style. I got into the story from page one, and I couldn't put the book down. Some of the characters seemed a bit dense at times, but they are all good people. And I didn't feel like Blackstock was pushing religion on me when the religious parts of the story came about. It made me feel kind of warm towards the characters, like they were trying to make friends with me or something. I really enjoyed reading the romance between Blair and Cade. Cade's a hunk, by the way. Hehehe. Anyway, the story was really good, and I couldn't figure out who was guilty of what till the end. Very good climactic ending, too.

Book 4 of a wonderful series. Just as good as all the rest!!

Any book written by Terri Blackstock is great. This is final chapter in the Cape Refuge Series and it is well worth the wait. For those who have followed the characters from the very beginning will find this the answer to everything! I gave my copy to someone at church who collects Terri Blackstock series' and she love it as well.

Another murder on Tybee Island, this time young girls. Who done, the police chief? No way, but the clues lead to the Chief and an author of murder mysteries.
A famous mystery writer moves to Cape Refuse and an ex-con Sheila Caruso-mother to Sadie and Caleb- is trilled to get the job working for him. But then....in different mystery book scenes the eccentric writer's novels match the crime scene. Exactly....Will Sadie be the next to die?
very compelling and reviting
I throughly enjoyed the whole Cape Refuge series. Although the "crimes" were a bit questionable at times, the characters were very like-able and everything was well written. This book tied up the loose ends and there was a sense of closure with the characters.
Excellent read! This is Terri Blackstock's best series so far.
This is a book in the Cape Refuge Series, a Christian murder mystery. (Does that sound like an oxymoron?)
The fourth entry in Blackstock's Cape Refuge series finds a couple of murders, a new baby and a wedding occurring on the small island, all within a short span of time. Jonathan and Morgan are expecting (their infertility travails are documented in the third entry in the series); Cade and Blair are going to the chapel (theirs is the most realistic romance); and, of course, a mystery. There are a couple of notable plot turns that I didn't see coming and Blackstock explores the concept of what it means to be born again and to truly hate the sins one has committed through her character, Sheila Caruso (introduced in the first entry in the series).
Elderly neighbor loved these books!
I have loved every book of Terri Blackstocks that I have read. Breaker's Reef is no exception. She has an incredible gift of character development and storytelling that leaves you hanging onto the edge of your seat. I spent the whole book thinking that I had figured how who done it only to find that I was completely wrong. The only down side is that there is not another book in this series.
This series was a wonderful read, I wish it would go on forever.
This is the 4th in the Cape Refuge series. ALL of the books are GREAT! If you like mystery and suspense without all the blood and gore these books are for you.
very good book, have read all 4 books in this series and plan on reading more of her books
Great Christian Romanse and Mystery
This is book 4 in the Cape Refuge series. I highly recommend starting at book 1 and reading all of them. Everything Terri Blackstock writes is believable, touching, and easy to lose yourself in.
I thought this series was very good. I really like Terri Blackstock as an author.
This series of books are absolutely breathtaking. Wonderfully written. Kept me on the edge of my seat! A very touching story, great storyline and characters. Highly recommend.
Secrets are uncovered while lessons are learned about the sins of the fathers being visited upon their children. Will the consequences of Sheila's poor choices in life be fatal, or is there redemption and mercy for her and her children?
Great book. 4th in the Cape Refuge series.

Another great book by Terri
A famous mystery writer has just moved to Cape Refuge when a teenage girl is found murdered. Sheila Caruso--ex-con, mother to Sadie and Caleb, and resident of Hanover House--is working for the writer when she discovers that a scene in one of his novels matches the crime scene.
When Police Chief Cade and Blair Owens discover a second dead teenager--mirroring a murder in another of the eccentric writer's books--Cade is drawn into a web of trickery and deceit. Evidence turns up in Cade's own truck, and suddenly he becomes the number-one suspect.Cade tries to clear his name, but when eighteen-year-old Sadie Caruso disappears, tensions mount to a fever pitch.
Can Cade find the real killer before Sadie winds up dead? Is the novelist a demented killer, or a hapless victim? And what does Sadie's own mother have to do with the crimes?Secrets are uncovered, while lessons are learned about the sins of the father being visited upon his children.
Will the consequences of Sheila's life be fatal, or is there redemption and mercy for her and her children?
'Chief Matthew Cade rarely considered another line of work, but news of the dead teenage girl made him long for a job as an accountant or electrician---some benign vocation that didn't require him to look into the eyes of grieving parents.'
Sercrets are uncoverd while lessons are learned about the sins of the fathers being visted upon their children.
